May is a major month for festivals on the Japanese calendar. Kicking it off during Golden week is the Hakata Dontaku (Holiday festival) in Fukuoka on the southern island of Kyushu. The festival features 30,000 dancers with 2 million spectators cheering them on. Here is a small slice of the parade. #hakatadontaku #matsuri #fukuoka #kyushu
