And a great big #CookbookCorner shout-out to @nikisegnit’s sequel to her Flavour Thesaurus, #MoreFlavours, which is of course a complete joy. Allow me a short quote from it: “Garlic bulbs are warm-hearted inveiglers. Fennel bulbs are cold and aloof, keeping their charms to themselves. Cooked together, garlic distracts from the hint of sweetness in fennel that some people find off-putting. Not that fennel cares if you like it or not.”
