Okay, I’m going to admit something. Don’t hate me. I am not a Star Wars person. I saw the movies as a kid and remember liking them but didn’t love them enough to show my kids. Mike didn’t either. I remember seeing the first of the prequel movies in the theater and falling asleep. Then there was that Jar Jar Binks debacle and I just stopped following along after that. I know the movies supposedly got better, but i just wasn’t invested in the story. To date, Mike and I haven’t seen any of the newer movies and the kids haven’t seen the old or the new. Not a one. We haven’t even watched the Mandalorian. Are we the only family like this? I think we might be. All this is to say, even as non Star Wars people, we could see that the Star Wars part of Hollywood Studios is really something special. The Rise of the Resistance was especially awesome and having drinks in Oga’s Cantina was really fun, but we also know we missed the meaning behind so much of what we were seeing because we don’t know the franchise very well. Mazzy kept pointing to robots and calling them Wall-E. 😂 Then this poor woman, a follower of mine, recognized us and ran up with her kid, all excited to tell us that one of the characters (the name sounded like total gibberish to me) was right around the corner available to take pics. We just nodded at her like we understood. “Oh thank you so much! Yes! We will definitely check it out!” Then as soon as she walked away, “Who? What did she say? I don’t know either.” 🤷🏻‍♀️ Our favorite rides at Hollywood Studios were Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway (way more fun than expected) and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, which Mazzy forced me to go on against my will, but I ended up loving it! Slinky was also good but it was the one ride where we actually waited on the line because we couldn’t get a lightening pass. 110 minutes. Although, to Disney’s credit, that’s how long it said it would be on the app and I timed it down to the minute because we had a lightening pass at another ride where the window ended in two hours and we made it exactly. I was very proud of us!
