This is Christine and her daughter Olivia. We are standing at the finish line of the NYC Marathon in Central Park. That will be relevant in a sec! Christine has been following since Olivia was two. Last year, when I announced that I had joined the board of @nyccasa, Christine reached out to tell me that she is a CASA advocate in New Jersey. She is also a runner and asked if CASA NYC had ever considered being a charity partner of the NYC marathon. I looked into it and found out you had to apply and then if approved, you would get 5 spots in the marathon. Christine sent me a link to the application. We applied and got accepted, so obviously I knew who should get the first spot! I am so excited to announce that Christine will be running the 2023 NYC marathon (her first time) for Casa NYC! She has already raised the required $2500 to participate, but I would love to throw the full support of the Mommy Shorts community behind her with a micro fundraiser! We get to support one of our own living out a lifelong dream and a great cause! I’m looking for small donations of $2-5. Just venmo ilana-wiles to contribute. All money raised will go directly to @nyccasa, a non-profit that trains advocates to provide individualized attention to the most challenging foster cases, ensuring that those children have their needs met and rights protected.
