I took Harlow to Wicked on Saturday night! She’s been playing the soundtrack nonstop, practically singing Popular in her sleep and was beyond excited. I took Mazzy years ago and forgot how good it is. That last scene at the end of the first act where Elphaba belts out Defying Gravity while floating to the ceiling with the broom made me so emotional!!! Harlow loved every second. She also made sure to wait at the stage door for autographs. We got Fiyero and Glinda but apparently Elphaba doesn’t come out that door. The woman next to me made her children feel better by saying, “that’s ok, remember a few years ago when we got to go backstage to meet Elphaba?” And then as we were walking away, Harlow said, “I kinda wanted to say. That’s okay, remember when the original Elphaba came over and hung out in our living room?” Ha. Ultimate Broadway theater flex, Harlow! And then I let her know that a Glinda (aka Megan Hilty) had been on the Mommy Show too!
