Yak Butter & Cheese — A short film from these days spent with Ma Dujilamu and her family in Wupse, a remote village 3500 meters in the mountains of southern Sichuan, China. Dujilamu, 42, is a fourth-generation Tibetan yak farmer. Her ancestors have lived in this magical highland for more than 100 years. Dujilamu, and her husband, Bian Duji, have more than 200 yaks and can earn enough money to send their two children to college in Chengdu. With no electricity, the family uses two solar panels to power four lights and a modern milk and cheese-making machine. We spent two days with Dujilamu, Duji, and her uncle, He Lurang, sharing with you this short story of their peaceful, giving life. Where the air is so clean, you realize how torturous we’ve abused many parts of our earth we call home.
