After a very disappointing college basketball career, I was completely lost as hoop was my everything or so I thought. I will go into more detail about this transition in a video someday soon. Although basketball didn't pan out the way I had dreamed of, I did find a love of bodybuilding which enabled me to utilize my mind, body & spirit to create a physique which proved that with hard work, strong belief in oneself and an obsession of seeking answers, I could create a physique that I was proud of. My friend @joshcrandall drove me to the show as he along with @johnbauer were my "coaches" showing me how to train and pose. Although I was a bit nervous, I did win both novice and open light-heavyweight titles and overall titles. It was also the same night I met @jaycutler who guest pose and we took that famous picture backstage. Needless to say idols would not only become friendly rivals but great friends. Wow!!! 20 damn years. As I write this I'm a bit teary eyed because of this journey going so long and yet so damn fast. Proud of this young 23yr old man who knew that his best effort, would always be good enough. Thank God I never made it to the NBA as I would've never had the experiences I have had now. Crazy how life works. Enjoy the ride everyone, even the most horrible days because it is those days which push you like weights into becoming a better more polished version of self.
