So for @gymnasts_for_change to be nominated for Changemaker of the Year by the Sunday Times in 2022, it really shows how far we have come, and helps to validate and celebrate the bravery of those many gymnasts who have spoken up - despite that backlash, and despite their own fears and insecurities from being told *they were the problem* by a culture that prioritised podiums over people. Thank you to the Sunday Times and to everyone who has helped amplify our message and gymnasts' voices over the past 2+ years ❤️ Gymnasts for Change represents and could not exist without hundreds of brave and passionate individuals; gymnasts, coaches, parents, fans, club staff and more, who have voluntarily spent their time to stand up for redress and reform. We're not there yet... we need closure on cases and reparation for those who've been hurt. We new laws that protect athletes in the same way students are protected in schools. We need a sports ombudsman, as Baroness @tannigreythompson DBE recommended years ago. We need better education and awareness, still. We need to survivor representation more widely across BG, including at board level. We need to collaboate with other sports and nations. And much more. But we have come a long way, and we look forward to continuing to work with British Gymnastics to make this sport better and safer at every level. 💖」11月19日 22時51分
