ジェニファー・ピンチズさんのインスタグラム写真 - (ジェニファー・ピンチズInstagram)「{Link in bio & my story- takes 2 mins, tops!} 🗳🇬🇧🤸‍♀️ @Gymnasts_for_change was founded to campaign for change in Gymnastics, at a time when @britishgymnasticsofficial (and many other NGBS) strongly denied there was an institutionalised problem and largely refused to engage with us. It was born out of a need to formalise community efforts and focus on action, to drive redress and reform, after @athleteafilm and the #GymnastAlliance response showed how strongly gymnasts related to welfare not being put first, felt the need to stand up and be allies for one another and many shocking stories were shared. Thanks to the efforts of those who have spoken out and continue speaking out, in the UK, support lines have opened, the Whyte Review was commissioned (and independently vindicated whistleblowers!), and staff changes have occurred, most notably with Sarah Powell taking over as CEO of BG. Gymnasts for Change has also supported many hundreds of gymnasts around the world in seeking mental health support, legal compensation, and coping with the trauma brought up by their negative Gymnastics experiences, which still affects them today. Being nominated for a Sunday Times Changemaker of the Year award goes some way to recognising the mammoth efforts this sporting community has made, and just how far we have come.
