This time I visited two of Japan's five World Natural Heritage sites: the Ogasawara Islands, an oceanic island about 1,000 kilometers from central Tokyo, a 24-hour ferry ride away, and Shiretoko, a peninsula jutting out into the Sea of Okhotsk in northeastern Hokkaido. While the southern and northern islands are quite different, the Ogasawara Islands are known for their whales, dolphins, and coral reefs, while Shiretoko is known for its brown bears, bald eagles, foxes, orcas, and drift ice. However, they are both 1,000 kilometers from Tokyo, and the Ogasawara Islands require a 24-hour ferry ride that departs once a week, so it is not an easy place to visit in terms of travel and accommodation costs. However, with the support of the Passion Project, a project of @lightroom , I was able to make my dream of traveling to a World Natural Heritage sites a reality. I was worried about the 24-hour boat trip, what if I couldn't return to Tokyo because of a typhoon, what if I couldn't see dolphins, whales, or brown bears, but the boat trip was comfortable, and I was able to see whales on the island, swim with dolphins, see a family of wild brown bears and a fox in Shiretoko, and the weather was perfect. Although it was difficult to carry more than 10 kg of equipment on my back, climb mountains and walk around from early morning until dark, and go from 34 degrees in the Ogasawara Islands to 14 degrees in Shiretoko, the wonderful encounters, experiences, and beautiful scenery I had on my trip made for a truly magical 10 days. The natural heritage sites in Japan that I visited this time are all valued for their rich and unique ecosystems, where you can feel the cycle of life, including rare plants and animals. I am delighted to be able to share with you all the beautiful scenery and animals I saw, and the adventures I had during my 10 days there. I would like to thank @lightroom for providing me with this wonderful opportunity. #LightroomAmbassador #AdobePartner#ad
