The Tokyo Olympics and my last competition was over.
The most unbelievable thing is…I have no plans for the next competition.

What I feel most after the Olympics is that I want to climb more!! Want to become strong!!No matter how hard I try or become stronger, the attraction of climbing will never satisfy me.

As the last big job of my athlete career, if I could express the attraction of climbing to everyone, I think it was my "culmination".
•
I started climbing at the age of 11, and won the Japan Youth at the age of 12. Became the winner of Japan senior tournament at age of 16, and challenged world competitions. Suddenly I was able to finish 3rd in a world championships. I won a World Cup for the first time, at age of 19 and became the World Cup annual champion at age of 20. After that, I was able to become the annual champion 4 times, and at the age of 26, the possibility that sports climbing will become an Olympic event happened. I was involved in the bid activity, and by the time sports climbing became an Olympic event at age of 27, my consecutive victories in Japan had stopped, and it was becoming more difficult for me to compete in the world. After struggling to face the three events. I got a ticket for the dream stage by going through the Olympic selection tournament. And in 2021, which was postponed for one year, the first and last Olympic Games held at the age of 32.

It is countless what I have learned from Climbing.
Never give up until the end.
Don't lose to myself, don't run away.
To love myself at any time.
Believe in myself and believe in my coaches.
The joy of being supported.
The joy of having someone who is more pleased with me than I am.
The joy of climbing with good physical and mental health.
The joy of having rivals who can fight and support each other.

Climbing made my life enriched.
The Tokyo Olympics showed me a dream again.

My athlete life is over, and new life is just beginning! Now it is time for me to give back to Climbing, and to the many people who supported me.
