Black Style, Black Hair Styles especially are so unique and beautiful. As a Black artist, I am 100% inspired by our Afro style! It is nothing short of magic. When I am out and about or scrolling through social media the feeling that is invoked in me when is see beautiful afros is indescribable. That feeling is what I am trying to convey to those who look at my art, to capture that feeling and invoke it in the viewer. Seeing the different afro styles, how each afro curls, how it lays, from the unkempt to the perfectly polished they all inspire me. they give me such a warmth in my chest to behold. Throughout history our hair has been more than just an accessory, our hair grows up like a crown, and that crown is to remind us to hold our heads high. To me it's like a testament to our strength, our beauty and our resilience. Every girl I create, their afro is a part of their story, their personality. With my art I want to reflect the beauty that is our style, the style that is so unique to us, so when my art is seen by black womxn, they walk away a little happier, feeling a little more seen and feeling as naturally beautiful as they truly are.
