“I think in every culture hair is important – even if you don’t have hair it’s a statement, but it's something in the Black community we’ve put on a pedestal… There are many angles to Black hair. There’s so many styles. You can wear it straight, afro, curly, braid it, style it in intricate patterns. If I could change one thing about the industry, I’d like to have more people of color in positions to tell our stories. For any newcomers coming into the beauty space, my advice is to be completely authentic in who you are.”
