Sakura of America(サクラクレパス)さんのインスタグラム写真 - (Sakura of America(サクラクレパス)Instagram)「Hello, @amilliontinylines again! In the course of my artistic journey, I’ve had a lot of people tell me they “can’t” do art, or they don’t want to because they’re not good at it. But the point of art isn’t to be good at it. Creativity is a human behavior, a therapeutic release, and a form of self-expression, not just a profitable vocation. This goes for other creative outlets as well, like singing and dancing. People seem to think that the only point of doing them is to get good at them, and if you can’t live up to the standards of someone who makes a living off of it, then why do it? The human behavior of creative release is neither a competition nor a hierarchy. Sure, not everyone can make a living off their art, but that has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not they should create art. Do what makes your heart sing and your mind blossom. If being creative has that effect on you, then there’s no such thing as doing it “badly”. Being good enough at it that you financially profit, or that other people think you’re good, is completely and utterly beside the point. I used a whole bunch of different sizes and types of MICRON pens by SAKURA for this drawing, Influence. The brush tip pen was perfect for the fur strokes of the spots, while their 003 and 005 MICRON pens enabled me to create smooth yet textured short facial fur. My white GELLY ROLL pen by SAKURA had its work cut out for it with the whiskers and backlit chin hairs. I’ve tried out quite a lot of gel pens, and GELLY ROLL pen is by far my favorite! It’s super smooth, and the white is solid and bright and doesn’t die off as other pens do. P.s.- this drawing is based on a beautiful reference photo from @thesafarigame #pigmamicron #gellyroll #sakurakoi #blackwork #inkdrawing #drawing #wildlife #leopard」2月17日 3時02分 - sakuraofamerica
