Truth is I never left the country, flew in a plane, or owned a passport until I was on my first assignment as a photographer in my early 20’s. What a wild ride those first few years of seeing the world became. It’s possible that the lack of experience I had in traveling made me ultra sensitive to what I felt and witnessed when I began to see what was actually out in the world. Every emotion was heightened. Flying, especially, left such deep impressions in my psyche. It was riveting, pure joy at the sight of simply “seeing” something different.
