Thank you all for contributing!!!!✨✨ // Ready for another Mommy Shorts community act of kindness? A few weeks ago, I did my first micro-fundraising initiative where I asked for $2 Venmo donations to see if we could raise $600 to get a mom in need some toys and furniture for her 2yo’s birthday. We blew that goal away in under 10 minutes. This week, I’ve set my sights a little bit higher. I want to do something special for 80 new moms in need for Valentine’s Day. I found these moms through @nidodeesperanza, a NYC non-profit that provides goods, services and community for Hispanic moms below the poverty line in Washington Heights and Inwood. They start working with women while pregnant and continue working with them for their first three years of motherhood. That means formula, diapers, and a local support network to meet each other and make friends. There are currently 80 moms in their program and El Nido wanted to make sure that if I rallied my community, we gave the same to each of them. Our goal is to raise $4000 which means we can provide a week’s worth of diapers and a bag of Valentine’s Day chocolates to each family. I would love to see if we can raise this money with small contributions of AT MOST $5 each. No more. The point is that we can all give this gift together as a community.
