Photo by @JimRichardsonNG / Evening was falling when I slipped out of the wee hotel in Isleornsay on the Isle of Skye to take in the blue hour of a summer evening in Scotland. In the best traditions of a country house hotel, it sits isolated on the coast, far from any town or village, no particular reason to be here except for the spectacular views looking back to the mainland. Perhaps it is the lonely setting that makes life inside the hotel seem so warm and cozy by contrast. Dinner was followed by cheese on the sideboard in the lounge with whisky and a peat fire blazing.
