The adorable dusky pademelon is a small, hopping marsupial belonging to the same family as kangaroos. Native to the island of New Guinea and some surrounding islands, not much is known about this elusive species. Limited observations have revealed that the pademelon is a forager, often feeding on grass, shoots, and fruits under the cover of darkness. They are mostly solitary, though socialization will occur for mating purposes and occasionally while grazing.
