Photo by @hellokrisdavidson / The reindeer travels the farthest of any terrestrial mammal, with the most extensive migrations occurring in the spring and fall. This image was made during a spring migration in Laponia, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Sweden, as a herd left their winter grounds to go to the calving grounds in the mountains. The Sami people, who have inhabited the northern regions of Fenno-Scandinavia and Russia for at least 2,500 years, are the reindeer keepers. #Reindeer #Laponia #Sweden
