Strawberry Fields, New York City -- Back in 2005, I spent a day photographing Yoko Ono at her apartment in the Dakota before she addressed the United Nations General Assembly on the subject of nuclear non-proliferation and world peace. From her windows, she can look down upon Strawberry Fields, the tear-shaped plot on Central Park dedicated to the memory of her husband, John Lennon, who was shot 40 years ago on December 8 at the Dakota, where she still lives today. After photographing inside, we went down to visit the peaceful corner of the park that she gifted the city of New York to honor John's memory and his quest for peace and understanding in the world.
