スカイラー・カーギルさんのインスタグラム写真 - (スカイラー・カーギルInstagram)「i can hardly believe this was six years ago at the @trevorproject live awards where i was awarded the youth innovator award for inspiring LGBTQ youth toward happiness and wholeness. the whole experience was surreal! but let me tell you the best part - . i had to go about 6 hours early to rehearse my speech. they had teleprompters and i basically read straight off of them (i have a terrible memory 😆) and the director kindly approached me and said “skylar, you can do better!” of course that sent me into a major panic! . . i got back to the hotel where my mom was waiting and i was shaking with anxiety. she said “you can do this!” and so i read my 15 minute speech for the four hours we had remaining. i won’t lie - i was still nervous as heck as i approached the stage.. what if i fell back to relying just on the teleprompters?! . . the whole night was magical and i almost forgot my big anxieties until i walked on stage and accepted the award. as i began my speech, i closed my eyes for a moment and then looked directly out to the crowd. by some miracle, i didn’t look at the teleprompters once. not once. and folks noticed! i was so proud of myself and how i got over my nerves and killed it on stage. . . also shouts to @tyleroakley for being so humble and kind in person. what a joyous human. . . thank you all for believing in me in the years before and the years after this. i am infinitely grateful. #trevorlive #2014 #lgbt #transgender #transandhappy #ftm #queer #love」12月9日 5時18分
