When he sent me photos of a 400 meter wall overhanging for half the way, I was sold right away.  • The village of Taghia sits deep in the mountains several hours from the nearest road. A few hundred berber people lead an honest but hard life (electricity came only a few years ago), sheepherding and farming the hillsides around the canyon.  • Rock climbers have been coming here since the 90ies, when legends like Michel Piola discovered the many steep walls up to 1000 meters, and it's been a climbing mecca since. • After climbing some of the classics, @jonglassberg and I set off to finish Arnaud's route, climbing and bolting for several days until we reached the summit of the Tadrarate wall. Out of the 12 pitches, 5 are estimated between 8b and 9a, making this a unique project. Hard boulder problems, some long runouts, and endless mini crimps. Travel memories: part 1

I planned to visit Taghia's red limestone walls for a long time already, when @arnaudpetit_climb told me about a project he never finished bolting. When he sent me photos of a 400 meter wall overhanging for half the way, I was sold right away.

The village of Taghia sits deep in the mountains several hours from the nearest road. A few hundred berber people lead an honest but hard life (electricity came only a few years ago), sheepherding and farming the hillsides around the canyon.

Rock climbers have been coming here since the 90ies, when legends like Michel Piola discovered the many steep walls up to 1000 meters, and it's been a climbing mecca since.

After climbing some of the classics, @jonglassberg and I set off to finish Arnaud's route, climbing and bolting for several days until we reached the summit of the Tadrarate wall.
