We knew the US election was determined that morning, but had no idea of the outcome. We cracked a joke, but soon saw the look on Jon's face, I believe his words were in the lines of "we're f#cked". Over the past years, I've followed American (geo)politics often with a feeling of dismay, especially due to its disregard to human life and environment. Wars being waged both openly as well as behind the curtain are nothing new to the US, and it seems neither political party will put an end to this. I can understand voters supporting both parties, and I feel sorry for the lack of alternative that is offered to them, since I'm sure many have no faith in either. Whatever the outcome of this election is, let's hope for a change in the future, where (human) life comes before profit, and US interests are not only focussed on wealth for the few ritchest.
