Oh, and 34,000 medical practitioners signed it, too, alongside 11,000 public health scientists (not all verified signatures). It’s called the Great Barrington Declaration and reads in part: “Coming from both the left and the right, and around the world, we have devoted our careers to protecting people. Current lockdown policies are producing devastating effects on short and long-term public health.” Some of the costs of lockdowns include: -cardiovascular disease -fewer cancer screenings -mental health and suicide Authorities worldwide have acknowledged that the virus is going to become endemic whether or not we ever have a vaccine that works. Let’s start protecting our vulnerable people and relying on healthy people to keep society functioning while building immunity. It is unfair to force everyone to hide until there’s a vaccine. It won’t work. It’s not what we agreed to when the government calls for a two-week lockdown that came out in March. It’s OK for experts and the government to simply say, “We were doing our best, we didn’t have enough information, we made a mistake.
