The moment the election was called, shouts and horns reverberated throughout the city streets. What a day to be in NY.
My sister and I headed to Prospect Park, historically known for its activism and marches. Thousands of people had gathered to celebrate - masked, of course. Since I’m still considered immune compromised, we hung back in a little area of the park, laid down and looked up at the trees as cheers of joy erupted around us.
I take these little imprints of joy and try to bottle them in memory so they can be assessed forever. This photo is that imprint for me. The symbolic end of a painful but transformative personal chapter. New beginnings. Joy. Hope. Love.
If you celebrated last week, what is the memory forever imprinted? (And sidenote - how amazing would it be if you could respond with a photo in the comments??)
