A glorious natural wonder to many, a forbidding mix of wetlands, forests, mosquitos and alligators to others, #Everglades National Park in #Florida has always evoked strong reactions in people. Generations of Calusa and Seminole people lived in harmony with the Everglades, often using the wilderness as a refuge. While many were devastated by disease or forcibly relocated, Native Americans still living in the area continue to be an important part of the area's story.
