We have decided to make things a little less random by giving certain days themes. So, henceforth and until we run out of possibilities, Sunday will be #BowieSheetMusicSunday. Today’s example is two versions of the 1986 Absolute Beginners sheet music, US top left and UK bottom right. One of them is easy to find, the other, not so much. Absolute Beginners seems to be a particular favourite among fans, reflected in the single’s #2 placing on the UK chart. Somebody asked last week which instruments these sheets were produced for. Generally they were PIANO/VOCAL/GUITAR, though many Bowie fan musicians have complained about how inaccurate many of these transcriptions are, preferring the Off The Record series of album sheet music for greater accuracy.
