As we pointed out back in January, the UK’s Mirabelle magazine gave David Bowie his very first colour cover fifty years ago when he was featured as an uncredited model. Today’s item is the 21st July 1973 cover of Mirabelle when he returned for a cover in his own right. This was in celebration of the proud announcement on the cover: “MY WORLD” DAVID BOWIE WRITES EXCLUSIVELY FOR MIRABELLE. My World was a weekly column which ran for close on two years giving precious insights into David’s activities of the time. This during the period of his newfound worldwide fame, one had to wonder how he got the time to settle down and produce such a thing, when he clearly wasn’t even getting enough time to eat properly! All was explained when Bowie himself lifted the lid on the whole affair for one of his BOWIENET journal entries: “But did I write them? Well, here's the awful truth.
