We both work full-time in our professional careers that have nothing to do with travel or photography. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ We feel like we’ve been on the go for a while, as each of us immigrated to Canada from Pakistan at different stages of our lives. And since having our two children, we have travelled often across the world. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ It has helped us collect memories and appreciate different cultures. That is a very Canadian thing to do. Because, every time we return to Canada, we see so much of the world in our neighbours & colleagues, the friends our kids have at school and the restaurants that offer global experiences. It is a very proud feeling that so much of the world has joined us in calling Canada home.⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ That pride was reinforced this year as travel restrictions made us look closer to home for family adventures. As we drove across Ontario and Quebec, we realized we don’t need to leave Canada to experience the world - it truly is right here!⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ We met our quest for Scandinavia with an ATV ride to the top of Saguenay Fjords. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ We relived our strolls in Singapore by twirling under umbrellas at Petit Champlain. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ We swam in crystalline waters off Bali on Flowerpot Island while picnicking on our own little Greek isle on the Georgian Bay coast. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ The kids wanted the sandy beaches of Sydney, so Port Stanley laid out the red carpet. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ When we recalled our hike in the Swiss Alps, Mont Pinacle overlooking Lac Lyster offered breathtaking views. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ If we craved the vibes of Paris, Quebec City waved the wand. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ When we wanted the hustle & bustle of Rome, Old Montreal lit up the night. ⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ No doubt, this pandemic is hard on so many people all over the world. But, in the midst of this upheaval, we found a place that is equal parts wow, welcoming & world-class. It’s called Canada.
