So as not to offend anyone I decided to put the ‘sensitive content’ slide first, but the reality is, that lions eat meat and it’s normal and it’s natural. I know these images will stir up some emotions and may even result in some ‘clicking’ of the unfollow button, but that’s okay, because people need to understand the full picture of what it means to be a lion. After all this a page about all things lion. In an age where people are very sensitive to the realities of the natural world, I’m saddened, because of what we’ve become in a relatively short space of time. We are so disconnected from reality it’s frightening, to the extent that we don’t want to talk or think about where our meat comes from, as long as it’s packaged tastefully and don’t want to think about the reality of predator/prey relationships in the wild and how they evolved. What are we teaching our children if we can’t even come to grips with where our food comes from? If we feel the need to protect them from something as natural as a predator eating its prey then how are they going to cope in the real world that lies before them? Do children really believe that the chicken they eat is somehow different to the farmyard chicken they learn about at school? For lions there’s simply no better nutrition than a complete carcass of its natural prey, containing all the essential nutrients and minerals imperative to good health.
