Naiobi has been incredibly healthy and happy since her eye surgery that resulted in the removal of her left eye due to severe glaucoma. A few days back I posted a picture of a male lion from the Kruger National Park with a disfigured jaw and mentioned Kruger’s non interference policy. I received many comments, many exclaiming their dissatisfaction for this approach. I will cover this in detail in an #askmeg video on my YouTube channel as it’s a complex topic. In captivity it’s clear cut. We most definitely have an obligation and a duty to give the animals in our care the best possible veterinary care.
