15 OF 31 - After that first story ran in i-D magazine everything changed.

This was a time when a majority of fashion pictures were shot in studio. There was a cold austere-ness to a lot of the images.

Dramatic lighting on a stark backdrop.
.
I think one of the reasons people responded so well to MY pictures was that I took models outside.
.
If it was raining we shot in the rain.
.
If it was sunny we shot in the sun.
.
The pictures felt natural and so much less stylized compared to what was going on at the time.
.
In the years that followed I got to shoot for pretty much ALL of my dream clients. British, Japanese, Italian and American Vogue.
.
By this time @mrjoezee was working as the fashion editor at W magazine. After dreaming and scheming for so many years about shooting editorials together we finally got the chance.
.
For our first “real” job together (also my first big editorial for an American magazine) we went to Tulsa, Oklahoma to shoot @アンバー・ヴァレッタ . To this day it’s one of my favorite stories. W gave us like 26 pages and pretty much free reign to shoot whatever we wanted.
