Originally I’d planned to write a bunch out in advance but then reality caught up with (overtook?) my plans so daily it is. . I do love hearing from people that are reading along. Sometimes IG can feel a bit like a vacuum so thanks for letting me know. . As of November 1st ALL THE DEAD BOYS slink back into the shadows there. And I’d love to have those of you who are into it along for the ride. . Now I’m gonna do a bit of a fast forward here. I spent YEARS bouncing around between cities like Toronto and Miami. Shooting tests for new face models and trying to get more of those elusive tearsheets. . I had a book full of pictures of girls that seemed magazine ready. . Clean and fresh! . Pretty! . But I also had a whole slew of pictures I’d been taking on my travels. . The carny kid who ran the bumper cars I met at a Georgia State Fair. . A slick teenage grifter I met at a skate park. . Real (and sometimes rough) people whose portraits I’d taken on the road. . They didn’t look anything like the pictures in my “real” portfolio. . But I wasn’t getting hired when I showed my real portfolio. . So I decided to mix it up. . I took out all the pretty pictures and put together a book of all the gritty black and white portraits. . A scowling 12 year old in her mothers high heels. . A sexy sweaty cowboy at his local diner. . My new book was short - maybe just 15 pictures or so - but I figured there wasn’t much to lose..... . Until tomorrow. .
