Hyundai @hyundai.lifestyle has launched their #ReStyle2020 project, collaborating with six sustainably-minded designers to create a capsule collection out of discarded raw materials from the car manufacturing and scrapping process - This beautiful @richardquinn corset I’m trying on for size is actually his signature floral printed onto recycled airbag fabric. You can sort of see the texture of the airbag coming through Quinn’s digital print which gives the print a nice faded effect - Other highlights include a @ELVDenim upcycled denim jumpsuit patchwork with car interior leather, Korean brand @pushbutton_official ’s waistcoat made out of “waste” airbag materials. Then there’s wonderful @alighieri_jewellery who has created a collection of necklaces, chokers and bracelets out of car glass, foam and seatbelt, augmented by gold, silver and freshwater pearls. - Hyundai is currently working to increase the recycling rate of its scrapped cars to over 90% by 2021 so this project isn’t just a performative one-off but a working example to show how these materials can be used in real product as well as exploring other sustainable initiatives for #SustainableLiving - To that end all the pieces will be available @TheOfficialSelfridges ‘ Project Earth pop-up from today, with funds going towards @BritishFashionCouncil ’s Foundation Crisis Fund as well as their Institute of Positive Fash. - #HyundaiRestyle」10月14日 4時14分
