As we count down to the premiere of the Photo Ark special which airs Saturday at 10/9pm central on NatGeo Wild, we’re showcasing a number of the animals you’ll meet on the show. First up is the pied tamarin! These peculiar looking primates are a species known for their distinct forms of communication. For example, tongue flicking, in which the tamarin moves its tongue rapidly in and out of its mouth over its lips, can be a sign of recognition, as well as an expression of anger or curiosity.
