Helmut’s Berlin.
Where: Zoologischer Garten.
This is the station from which an 18-year-old Helmut Newton fled from Nazi persecutions of the jews in 1938. Curiously, one of the last buildings he saw when the train left the station was the massive State Casino, which 65 years later was doomed to become the seat of its eponymous foundation.
For the October issue of Vogue Italia, @Mark_Peckmezian photographed a portfolio of women styled by @Tom_Guinness at various locations in Berlin associated with Newton’s life.
