#WorkoftheWeek: “Homage to the Square” (1969) by Josef Albers was a favorite series of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who passed away on September 18. Known as the court’s “Great Dissenter,” Ginsburg was the second woman to ever serve, and was also a true New Yorker, born and raised in Brooklyn.

Supreme Court Justices are able to choose works for their chambers from the Smithsonian Institution’s (@スミソニアン博物館) collection, and among Ginsburg’s choices were paintings by Josef Albers, Ben Cunningham, and Max Weber.
