In our October 2020 issue, designers @jeremiahbrent and @nateberkus gave us a look inside their new Montauk beach house, which they recently remodeled and have been living in full-time with their two kids since March. For Berkus and Brent, creating welcoming outdoor spaces was just as important as the interiors. The designers created a back patio for lounging, and transformed an outdoor kitchen into a screened-in dining area. Perhaps most crucial to their al fresco setup is the native vegetation they brought into the surrounding land—40% more than was there when they moved in. On the outdoor patio, the @livingspaces armchair and sofa have cushions covered in a @sunbrella fabric, the dining table and vase are by RH, Restoration Hardware, the runner is by @amberinteriors, the candles are by @potterybarn, the dining chairs are by @article, the vintage side table is teak and ebony, and the cement floor tiles are by @cletile.
