Here in the Italian countryside, among the ancient carved wood tables and vintage Persian rugs, Castellarin sprinkled in more recent finds. “We wanted to put modern elements in every room,” he says, “as well as antiques.” For example, a Cloud sofa designed by Marcel Wanders for Moooi in 2012 is placed in front of the carved stone fireplace alongside a set of bergères from the early 1900s.
