Photo by @DaisyGilardini By April the pack ice in the frozen fjords of Svalbard slowly opens up. This young bear is scouting the ice edge looking for seals. Of the eight species of bears, polar bears are the only bear to be truly carnivorous. They are at the top of the Arctic food chain, and seals represent 90 percent of their diet.
