Yeah, things have changed a bunch in the 16 years since we made "Making The Call". Paddling into behemoth barrels at Jaws and Mavs, tackling super extra-tall peaks at XXL Nazare, safety vests, PWCs everywhere, better cameras (!), etc. But the foundation of the big-wave experience hasn’t changed much — particularly what makes ’em.
‘Making The Call’ is part documentary, part surf movie, and two parts curriculum, dubbed “Surfology 101” by Surfline founder Sean Collins, who breaks down the North Pacific’s top big-wave spots — Waimea Bay, Outer Log Cabins, Jaws, Todos Santos, Cortes Bank, Maverick’s — and discloses the secrets about what make them tick.
