I wrote this back in april in the early days of lockdown, so full of hope and yearning to believe in a better world. so much has happened since then, the relentless global suffering feels like an endless tragic soundtrack on loop that I am reading back these words out of necessity as each new day feels heavier and heavier. i’m trying to sit with these words by Almah Lavon quoted in 2015 : ‘just the other day I was reading that resilience is an ecology more than it is an individual trait or possession. If so, dreaming together can weave the context together for our healing. That is: a container, an atmosphere, a potentiality. Not transcendence. In fact, I’m not sure how much we’re breaking free of personal/collective trauma as much as we’re brewing adaptogens, recipes for resistance, a kiss and a fist.’ So with that in mind these questions are here for us to dream together. I feel v honoured to get to share space with such an incredible group of humans @viviensassen @mirandajuly @wolfgang_tillmans @honeydijon @tiwaselect amongst so many others! All income from the publication will be divided evenly by the artists and creators involved, many who have lost work and income streams because of the pandemic.
