Recreating all the foods I grew up eating for Hugo. My grandma would make this for me all the time. A side dish usually eaten with rice and served room temp. But I would eat this as my main meal with rice with a knob of butter and sesame oil.

I like to serve warm (reheat in microwave!) as it makes the beef more tender then when it’s cold. Cook cubed beef chuck in boiling water, skim. Then add soy, sugar, peppers, black pepper and then cover and simmer until tender. Add lots of garlic and peeled soft boiled egg about 2/3 way through. I freeze the soft boiled eggs before adding them to ensure they don’t get overcooked.
