Guys. I know I’m late to this video. It came out two years ago and has over 58 million views, but I just saw it for the first time last night and Then proceeded to sob for 45 straight minutes. My eyes were still swollen when I woke up this morning. @kealasettle is a genius and this moment during the pitch presentation to get “The Greatest Showman” greenlit is a moment of transcendent artistry, vulnerability, courage and community love. Watching her emerge from her music stand and then proceed to sing mostly to her fellow actors and singers as every one of them shared in this communal moment of shouting each other’s worth was ... epic.
This was a gorgeous thing to behold and I’m so glad it was captured on film. This is why I love theater and artists. She was up there not to “perform” for the money people. She was up there singing with her beloved community for the joy of this epic shared experience. It was like church. Something beyond the sum of its parts. And everyone in that room felt it. If you want to be wildly inspired and have a good cry, swipe up in my stories to watch this incredible video!! ❤️❤️❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
