Martin Daly was the original conductor for the surfing amusement park that was Sumatra’s Mentawai Islands in the 1990s. After that, he launched the Quiksilver Crossing — a global wave hunt on the Indies Trader that took seven years, saw 27 countries, sailed 160,000 nautical miles and discovered some 100 new waves. Now 62, Martin’s done with all that and has decided to live out the rest of his days in a place that is truly untouched, the Marshall Islands. Watch how he did it, and more importantly, why.
