In honor of #WorkdPhotographyDay, I’m posting a picture by one of my photographic hero’s @williamalbertallard. The picture is of Henry Gray, a rancher living alone near the Mexican American border. This was made in 1970 and was part of his book “Vanishing Breed”. It is one of my favorite pictures and it played an early role in my wanting to become a photographer. I “borrowed” the National Geographic that first published the story from a Doctor’s office when I was 15 years old. His book is a poem, one of the most beautifully seen books in my collection. With a career of over 50 years at @ナショナルジオグラフィック Bill Allard is one of the great ones. Find the book, buy it, You will be happy you did. #VanishingBreed
