Over 1800 miles of canals provide the main transportation network where boats outnumber the cars and waterways, the roads. The Delta is in danger, due to record drought, climate change and upstream dam projects. Water levels this year have reached an all-time low, endangering the livelihood of the farmers and fishermen who live and work along its banks.
