A cool August morning is an excellent time to enjoy the tranquility of Great Bay National Wildlife Refuge in #NewHampshire. Established on over 1,000 acres of a former Air Force Base, the lands and waters have traded Cold War bombers for ducks and kestrels. The refuge habitat consists of mudflats, salt and #freshwater #marshes, swamps, ponds, streams, woodlands, reverting fields and one of the longest stretches of undeveloped shoreline on the #GreatBay.
