Today, #VallesCaldera National Preserve in #NewMexico maintains the natural wilderness and preserves the homeland of ancestral native peoples that flourished in the location of that incredible event. During the rainy season, water funnels down the north rim of the crater in to the San Antonio Creek. The creek meanders 12 miles through the lush mountain meadows and is home to thousands of brown trout. Elk, bear, coyote and mountain bluebirds are often spotted along the banks.
