Though five attempts have been made, it has never successfully been climbed, and several people have died trying. In 2001 a law was passed banning any future attempts for religious reasons. Tibetans believe disaster will follow if humans set foot on its peak. They worship Kawagarbo, the god who resides there, by circumambulating the mountain during an arduous two-week, 150-mile trek. #yunnan #china #Kawagebo #Kawagarbo
